There is nothing more enjoyable than when our company participates in an ebbo™ Cares community event. And on June 5 we did just that at the Connecticut Foodshare in Wallingford.
Our team was thrilled to be back on familiar territory to support such a great organization as Connecticut Foodshare. We also participated in an event with them in 2019.
We had 25 team members split into morning and afternoon shifts. Each group sorted various produce to be distributed to Connecticut Foodshare clients the following day. As the hours went by, it was quite impressive to see the stacks and pallets of boxed produce we sorted and packed!
While our employees have always appreciated our ebbo™ Cares events to help those in need, there is a heightened appreciation for the team camaraderie and face-to-face time this brings now that our ebbo™ employees (like many other companies) work a hybrid work schedule post-pandemic.
Founded in 1982, Connecticut Foodshare’s mission is to deliver an informed and equitable response to hunger by mobilizing community partners, volunteers and supporters.
In the end, employees expressed gratitude and praise to give back to our community. Together, we packed a total of 11,302 pounds, which is equivalent to 9,418 meals.
Way to go, ebbo™ team!
