This year, ebbo was recognized as one of Boston’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®.

The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® competition identifies and honors organizations throughout the nation that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment.

Surveys are sent out to employees asking for honest feedback on what it’s like to work here and the results are judged heavily on that data.

Our award came down to these three key things that we’re all very proud of as a team.

ebbo has an Outstanding Company Culture

Culture is a word that everyone talks about, but what does it really mean?

People usually think of things like free coffee and snacks, flexible work from home policies, and ping pong. We do have some of those things at ebbo, but culture is about something deeper.

It defines what people do when the CEO isn’t in the meeting room. It’s how the team handles new or difficult situations. It’s what people do behind the scenes when no one is watching. That’s why it’s so important to have a culture that allows people to move quickly and make decisions.

From the second people walk into the office at ebbo, they can sense that something is special. New employees tell us that often. One of the first things they notice is the open floor plan which eliminates offices and allows for open collaboration.

Team members might be sitting outside at a fire pit having a meeting or hanging out in the ebbo café talking about a new project. It’s not about where someone is contributing but about what they are contributing.

Our culture gives everyone here the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company every day.

ebbo Recognizes Team Members for a Job Well Done

We constantly make it known when people do an awesome job. Team members can nominate their co-workers for special shout-outs at our quarterly company meetings and we have an awards ceremony at our annual holiday party to recognize people for their contributions.

We’re not only about business growth, though. We’re also about personal growth. That’s why we have things like monthly fitness challenges where we award prizes to people that crush their goals on a personal level, too.

Even though our culture really guides people on a deep level to be self-motivated to make an impact, we believe that it’s always nice to give people the shout out they deserve.

We Love Coming to the Office Everyday

How many people can say that they truly love coming to work every day?

Just about everyone has worked somewhere that hasn’t made them feel good, but the feedback we constantly hear at ebbo is that people genuinely want to be here.

A lot of that has to do with the positive energy that flows throughout the office. We work hard, and we move quickly. We’re able to do that because our team is willing to see every problem that arises as an opportunity grow.

Along with that positivity is helpfulness. Everyone here is willing to help each other out. That’s some of the greatest feedback we get from new hires. There’s a lot to learn, but people feel comfortable asking for help. No one feels like they are in it alone at ebbo.

Beyond the Awards

Awards have never been our focus.

Our focus has always been creating an outstanding culture, recognizing team member for the great work they do, and making it so that people look forward to coming to work every day.
