During the planning process for our winter Clarus Cares event, there was one that made the most sense for us: A coat drive for Button Up Connecticut.
Button Up Connecticut is a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes clean, new, and gently used coats across the state.
The organization has partnered with various organizations such as shelters, churches, social service agencies, and food pantries to help the less fortunate. Since 1992, it has distributed more than 750,000 coats to men, women, and children.
We held the event here in our office from Feb. 3 through Feb. 21.
In the end, we collected 210 coats and 53 hats/gloves, which is an impressive amount.
Officials at Button Up Connecticut informed us they would pick up our donation if we collected at least 80 coats.
So, I’m very happy we went above and beyond this threshold.
Clarus Commerce takes pride in helping the community by giving back; that’s why Clarus Cares was created. This is an opportunity for our employees to lend a helping hand and support the cities and towns around us.
We’re proud to have participated in Button Up Connecticut’s Coat Drive. Keeping others warm this winter really warmed our hearts as well.
At Clarus, there is no ‘I’ in TEAM and giving makes us happy.
